This is fantastic! For a previous game of mine I used this sprite generator https://old-flick.itch.io/sprite-randomizer , but I love how yours has animations as well. My only complaint is that I have to generate the sprites and save them ahead of time. Would be great if I could generate new sprites programatically in my game at runtime. Would it be possible to convert this project into a library? Could probably sell it on the Unity asset store.
what license are the generated images under? it says " Feel free to use any generated images for anything you like. " but doesnt specify any libre license?
Help! The latest build (4-5-2020) won't load in the latest version of the itch.io app! It opens up a separate window for the Unity WebGL player like it normally does, but it gets stuck at the 90% mark on the loading screen. A previous version worked on my other computer, but it doesn't seem to work now. I will note however that the most recent version works properly when run in Firefox. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my PC itself or if it's with the game, though!
Huh, yeah, it won't load for me in the itch app either. So, not just a problem with your computer. I haven't tried opening it in the app before, so it's not something I've tested. Interesting to hear it worked for you before on another computer. I might have a chance to look into it kinda soonish, but glad to hear that it works properly in the browser for now.

this tool is awesome. it lets me create creatures for games based on ecology.

The save spritesheet button does nothing. I don't understand why.
Being able to scroll the sprites would also help.
The itch website buttons on the right cover your generator buttons and prevent from clicking on them.
If there was a fullscreen button to prevent this, it would be much better.
That aside the sprites are super nice!
its a good idea and all, but its so stressing to use. half of the buttons dont work

Good question! Edited the description to specify CC0.
sweet. credit will be given anyways.
btw http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/legalcode would be a better link for the license.
for those of us who actually care about this stuff :)

Minor problem: the itch.io link, "Submission to PROCJAM" etc seems to be interfering with clicking on some of the controls!
yeah, I noticed that, too. Thanks for bringing it up again. I've contacted itch about if there's anything I can do about it.
The itch.io PC client allow you to download and use the tool locally, maybe it'll work better that way?
Neat, might use this for a future project
